The DMR repeater here is UHF like my Hotspot and there are few more UHF ones. The only down side is it's either UHF or VHF. I have to agree, when I heard audio on the Moto vs other DMR radios the Moto sounds better.
MOTOROLA RADIO PROGRAMMING COST SOFTWARE
i watched a video on the Moto software and it didn't look that hard to me. I don't have a problem with the software for the 868, pretty straight forward. I've used a 7550 and yeah the screen is slightly smaller but waaaaay better than the 868, it's also built better but for the price it had better be I had got kind of bored with DMR but since the repeater has gone up and I've also started listening to Texas State wide, TN State Wide and Georgia it's been more interesting. I've seen an XPR5550 and the screen is nice and big and so are the fonts. The mock up I've seen, the screen appears to be the same size as a 868/878 and that's to small for a mobile IMO. There's a TYT/Retevis and AnyTone is supposed to be coming out with something but who knows when. On the mobile side there's not much for DMR. Often times I notice before they mention what radio. I might be crazy but it seems like when I hear someone on a Moto radio they sound better. Right now have a 868 and for the most part it works but there are times it just locks up or has glitches. We finally got a DMR repeater here but I also have a hotspot I've been using. I was thinking about one for my vehicle or home basestation. Would it be better off to just take it to a dealer and have them program it how you want? Thought I saw someone place a web subscription.Īlso know with Moto you have to buy the wide band license too, talk about rip off but back to the topic. How much would the software cost or do you have to be a dealer? I know you have to buy the cable, looks like $30 or so for one on eBay. If a person wanted to buy a HT XPR7550 or mobile XPR5550 to use on a DMR reapter or hotspot.
